What is GamerLink?

GamerLink is a free Looking For Group (LFG) app on Android and iOS that allows you to connect with other gamers! It allows you to find others of similar skill, preferences, mic availability, and playstyle, the end goal to provide users with better online gaming experiences!

How do I change my username?

Tap on the profile tab from the home screen and go to “Settings”. At the top of the screen you will see your current username. Tap on your name and enter your new one. It will take effect immediately.

How do I connect with other gamers looking for a group?

From the home tab, tap on ‘LFG’ at the top of the screen to view a list of all open LFG posts for every game you have added. Alternatively, you may filter by the specific game you’re interested in playing by choosing it from the icons at the top of the screen from the homepage. This will take you to the Hub for the  game you’ve chosen and you’ll be able to navigate to the LFG tab from here. When you’ve found a group you’re interested in joining, click the ‘join’ button. You’ll be prompted to enter in your Platform ID if you have not done so already. Once you’ve joined, you’ll be taken to the chatroom where you can chat with your group and coordinate your gaming session. If you’d like to leave the group, simply tap the back arrow in the top left hand corner of the screen and tap the “leave” button.

How do I contact someone?

Once you have created an LFG post, you are able to contact the members of your group by using the chatroom for your post. You may also message another user directly by tapping on their profile icon and tapping on the ‘Message’ button. If you’d like to create a group chat with specific users, you can do so by navigating to the direct message tab on the bottom left hand side. Tap on the ‘+’ icon in the top right hand corner, and select “Create Group”. You can search the names of the users you would like to add to the group chat from here.

How do I create a post to look for a group?

From the home tab, click on the plus icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. Select the hub under which you’d like your LFG post to appear, and choose ‘LFG’ from the dropdown menu. Select the platform you would like to play on, and add your Platform ID from the dropdown menu. If you have not yet added an ID for the platform you are looking to play on, you will be prompted to do so. You will then be asked to specify communication details (mic, no mic, any) and the region you would like to play on. Choose the playstyle, game mode and skill level you’re looking for and indicate whether you would like your post to be made public or private. You may add a description for your group to let other gamers know more about what you are looking for. Tap the checkmark beside the Rules and Regulations agreement, and then tap confirm to create your post. Once created, you can share your post with friends, bump it up in the post feed to increase viewability, or delete your post by clicking on the three dots beside your username at the top of the page. If you’d like to chat with the members of your  group, tap the ‘Go to lobby’ button.

How do I make my LFG (Looking for Group) post private?

If you’d like to your LFG post to be private and have people request to join, when you are creating the post, make sure you select “Private” under the “Post Type” section. It is set to “Public” by default, so by selecting “Private”, you are preventing users from being able to join on their own.

How do I share my cool Content?

From the home tab, tap the plus icon in the top right-hand corner. From there, you can decide which Hub you’d like to post your Content in. Once you’ve chosen the appropriate Hub, you’ll be able to choose the type of Content you’re looking to share through a drop-down. Add an interesting title, upload your media and hit confirm.

How do I perform a Trade?

From the homepage, navigate to the Trade Hub at the top of the screen. You can see any Trades that are listed here, as well as create your own by tapping the checkmark in the top right hand corner. Fill out the required fields and then tap ‘Confirm’.

How do I bump my post?

Right now, bumping is only available on Looking for Group (LFG) and Trade posts. In order to bump your LFG post, follow these steps: Navigate to the LFG section in your profile drawer, tap on the LFG you’d like to bump, tap on “VIEW” in the top right hand corner of the screen, and then “Bump it Up”.


To bump your Trade post, navigate to the Trade section in your Profile drawer, tap on the Trade you’d like to bump, and then “Bump it Up”.

What are Clans?

Clans are a great way to meet fellow gamers through the GamerLink community! When you join a Clan, you will have access to the Clan chatroom which enables you to engage with your fellow Clanmates. Use the chatroom to look for a group, brag about your most recent win, or connect with other gamers!

How do I join a Clan?

At the top of the screen, click on the game you’d like to join a Clan for. Navigate to the ‘Clans’ tab at the top of the page. From here, you will be able to see any Clans that are currently recruiting. Tap the ‘Join’ button and you will be added to the Clan. From here you will be able to join the chat rooms available. All of the Clans you belong to can be found under the ‘Profile’ tab in the ‘Clans’ section. If you would like to leave a Clan, access your Clan settings by selecting your Clan from the Clan section in your profile screen, tap the three-dot icon, and select ‘Leave Clan’ from the menu at the bottom of the screen.

How can I create a Clan?

Tap on the profile icon from the home screen, and select “Clans”. In the top right hand corner of the screen, tap on the ‘+’ icon and then on “Create Clan”. Choose a Clan name, color scheme, Clan tag, wallpaper and provide a brief description of your Clan. Once your Clan has been created, you can add additional chat channels,  talk to your Clanmates, invite members, and change notification settings.

How do I block/report a user?

Tap on the profile picture of the user you would like to block or report and tap on the respective icon for the action you wish to perform. If you would like to unblock a user, you may do so by tapping the “unblock” icon.

How do I report a post?

If a post violates any of our Terms of Service, we highly recommend reporting it so it can be reviewed. On the post, there is a ‘Report’ button in the bottom right hand corner of the post. Tap on the report button, choose a reason, and enter details as to why you are reporting it. Tap on ‘Report’ to confirm.

How do I add a friend/accept a friend request?

Friend requests will appear in the Notifications tab. An alert will be present on top of the bell icon on the bottom of the screen. Tap on the bell icon to view who sent the request, and then accept or decline it.

In order to add someone as a friend, you can tap on their name, and then the “Add friend” icon. From this screen, you can also choose to block or report them, as well as view their profile.

How do I view all of the posts/comments I’ve made?

Tap on the profile icon, and then select “Posts & Comments”. You can delete old posts or comments by tapping on the three dots on the right hand side of the post you’d like to delete.

How do I join more Hubs?

Navigate to the “Discovery” tab (the planet-shaped icon at the bottom of the screen) and scroll through some of our more popular hubs. Once you find one you’d like to join, tap on it and then tap on “Follow”. Choose the platforms you play the game on, and then tap “Follow” to confirm. If the game you’re looking for isn’t pre-populated in the list, you can search for more hubs by using the search feature at the top right corner. Tap on the Search icon, start typing the name of the hub you’re looking for, and then select the hub once it appears. If the hub you’d like to join doesn’t exist, please contact us through the “Help and Feedback” section in your Profile drawer to request it be added.

How do I change my password?

You can change your password by tapping on the profile tab at the bottom of the screen, tapping on ‘View Profile’, then ‘Settings’, then to ‘Account Settings’ and then ‘Edit Password’.

How do I report a problem/provide feedback?

We appreciate and highly encourage users to provide feedback so we can continue to create the best experience for you. Tap on your profile tab and select “Help & Feedback”. Tap on “Create Ticket” and fill out the form. You may also upload screenshots to help us better assist you. Once your ticket is reviewed, our support team will contact you through the app should we have any further questions.

Does GamerLink have a web application?
